Roller derby is a fast-paced full contact women's team sport that requires speed, strategy, and athleticism. Roller Derby is an American-invented contact sport - and historically, a form of sports entertainment.

This will be the first Roller Derby game in inner Brisbane since the 1970's! An international grassroots DIY revival occurred that has seen Roller Derby spread beyond its American roots, with now over 25 leagues in Australia.

In 1995 an event was born based on the idea of a reasonably priced party with a bunch of great local DJs and a vibe only created by us for the party people. That event was Utopia, and on a cold night in July of '95 the first Utopia was held. Over the course of the next few years the Utopia event grew in size and morphed from an underground party to a legally promoted event in advertised venues. The step-up to these was a larger legal warehouse in Homebush which brought in giant crowds, often doubling the amount of patrons from the previous event. From Utopia 7 to 10, the attendances doubled each time going from 1800 to 3200, then to 6000 and finally a staggering 10,000 people at Utopia 10 at Wonderland.

Now in 2010, Utopia is known as the leading all night dance party in Australia, and is one of the biggest events of its type in world. It's been running for a crazy 15 years, and that in itself is an outstanding achievement. It's a milestone that no other Sydney all-night party has reached, 15 years of supp

The Garden Path will be a pleasant change of scenery from the regular Sydney haunts.

Walk Up the Garden Path and you'll get to experience the lush sounds of Deep House and Techno, dished up by some of Sydney's finest (and on one of the nicest mixers ever made!).

Walk Down by the shrubbery to be lulled by atmospherics and assaulted by Drum n Bass and Dubstep.

DJs on the night include Methodix (Mainline), Andrew Wowk (Fresh Meat), Highly Dubious (Fun Bus/The Collective), Double Robin (DSS) and Boot.

There will be some beer and brekkie available on site, but it is a BYO event. There are no toilets on site, but there is plenty of bushland, so bring some TP and handwash.

Please be considerate of the environment and clean up after yourselves. Also, be sensible and have a designated driver... We go from 9pm Saturday 'til 12 midday Sunday and you are welcome to rest on-site afterwards.

This is a free event, but all donations are greatly appreciated. :D
