Egyptian percussion
Born in 1981, Mic has been playing the doumbek since he was 16. He
started off playing for his Mum and sister when they started belly
dancing with the local trouppe. Sprecialising with the doumbek,
Since then he has also inluded the djembey and tambourine, congas,
cowbell & flute into his music. Influences are local friends
and my awesome teachers from Wollongong's world music scene. Plus
Sydney's Jamal & Ghassan plus internationally Hossam Ramzy.
Personal details: Ombnivore. Sweats out of one arm only while
playing. Other Influences.... Rusted root, John Butler Trio, +++.
In August 2003 that Mic wrote his first original rhythm with
variations or different parts, without copying or being influenced
from other sources. The rhythm named "Tempa" performed with Brodie
and her Alto Sax provides Jenna-leigh with an awesom one part 8/4
song to dance away to.
In the fututr I would like to move into some dj accompanyment,
scores, and much more
