Friday March 26th sees "Everyone" return to 202 Broadway with a line up of Sydney's finest underground talent. First and foremost, skirting the boundary of Dubstep and Drum&Bass, Royalston (recently signed to Hospital Records) will be treating us to his special brand of forward thinking rhythms and twisted basslines.
If that wasn't already enough, live stylings of uptempo electronica from Zodiac Project and a set from from arguably one of Sydney's finest Kate Doherty and Andrew Wowk. All of this supported by Everyone's own Dane Austin, Andosound & Oliver Gurney (of 3D World Social Club fame) and musical misfit Ryzer.

The Aus music industry is still producing world class stuff. Classic Audio Productions is a little taste of that era. Sure we have new gear but basicaly such bits as Yammy PM3000 out front and Ramsa on stage. Claire Bros foldback and the Martin RS1200's for FOH. This thing kicks. People say the the FOH is to heavy. Do you know I can rig this system on level load by myself. With the aid of a Genie lift nothing is too heavy. Even the consoles can be picked up and levelled so there really is no issue. My lighting however is a bit more modern with ETC and Strand consoles. Even the 10 tonne truck is the old SCR Isuzu, still going strong. Gatsby Ball was the best ... vibe!!!..much more fun than the Cambridge the night before which had no vibe and certain very unfriendly bar staff (certain people should NOT be working in bars!) ... Saturday's sessions and evening fun at the Gatsby Ball more than made up for it though!Gatsby's had a much more mixed crowd too ... probably part of the reason the vibe was so much better there!As always at ThisIsNotArt there were interesting sessions, zany performances, and a diverse and friendly mix of people with different and complementary interests .. its more than just another party.... and as bonus I got hold a piece of piezo plastic that might be put to use for something interesting! ...think of strange electroacoustic things :-)Now that I'm back in Sydney I'll want to check out some of the Australian Web Week events and of course on Thursday - EXCISION! We are looking for NEW Australian made (or ex-pats) music!!
A couple of years back Lightsounds pioneered a way for our customers to release their own original music via the Circuit Breaker CD. With a nationwide callout we received hundreds of entries from all over Australia and even from ex-pats living in Japan and the UK. The debut Circuit Breaker CD established a new standard in home grown electronic compilations when released in 2007. Circuit Breaker artists went on to receive air and club play both locally and internationally, sign record deals in Australia with tracks even licensed overseas.

Hotlegs Records is proud to present : Hotlegs' first album called "Groovearound".
All superstar Deejays started out playing records in their mom's basement.
So it's important to look for new up and coming talent. Recently we came across
a group from Paris composed by Julian David B and Arthur Scop named
HOTLEGS.

I just arrived today on this site seeking fellow musos to rock out with in my band Old Men
With Retrievers the name coming from seeing so many old men andtheir dogs wanderign around Moonee Ponds where I used to hang out sometimes fuck knows why....I'd meet people there and stuff but it's all a blur...I live in St Kilda it's boring and depressing with everythign so expensive I have no social life!
Thus I am a muso and comic. Though the comedy leaves me a bit bitter at times...Ibelieve music has saved
my life I stand by that. As so many do. I brought a guitar which I can play not greatly but enough to produce something of a song...A rough grungy punk deidcation to the creepy guys who try to pick me
up on the 96 called 'I'm over it' I love it. It's the first song I produced on my own even if it is a bit rough
but it sounds cool that way.
