Engage in an amazing feast of the senses in this free outdoor event at the Arts Centre in March. Mother India 21st Century Remix is a dynamic live audio visual event from Kala Phool that reinterprets the Indian cinematic masterpiece and iconic film Mother India, through an innovative live performance.
Nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 1957 Academy Awards, Mother India came to symbolize the post-colonial Indian psyche. Heralded as India’s Gone with the Wind, Mother India is the original Bollywood epic. Kala Phool have brought Mother India together with one of the world’s leading turntabilists and electronic composers, DJ Tigerstyle.
Witness the former World DMC Champion reinterpret the Mother India film score through a live electronic performance, collaborating with Matt Constantine on keyboards and cello, David Shaw on drums and Josh Ford on visuals.
