Formed on the banks of Clapton Pond in the spring of 2007, JOHNNYGONEHOME sing songs about frustration and plaster. When they re not making lots of noise and jaunting around North East London with their mix of "Balkan Beats "/blues/Danny Elfman thing, they can count mixing the lime and shouting at youth as their more orthodox actvities. When the brief Last Man disbanded, thanks to Jonny Ruddy being deported, Lee Squire was finally persuaded to sing in front of people. Gradually the acoustic sound developed at their regular haunt, The Stage Door in Waterloo, into the "sticky " electric noise you hear before you. PLAYER PIANO Vocally, former Indiana native Jeremy Radway sounds like a more lazily delivered, more articulate, Julian Casablancas crossed with the baritone depth of John Grant from The Czars. Instrument-wise by the time the piano flourishes kick in on Mad Dog there s reminders of Ben Folds and vocal harmonies/arrangements that might not sound out of place on an Ed Harcourt album. All of these references might give you some idea or just serve to confuse, but they do illustrate the mercurial melting pot of Player Piano. " THE DAYLIGHT FADED a dynamic, young, unrelenting 3-piece band. The music is epic, raw, melodic, passionate, inspired by artists as diverse as Jeff Buckley, Bad Plus, Pearl Jam, Tool, Otis Redding.....The list goes on but always centres around inovative, honest and exciting artists. Together these dedicated musicians produce a focused fusion, in which they strive to be as honest, as exciting and as passionate as their peers. Spawned by singer/songwriter Lee Gordon, a BBC Radio 2 New Talent songwriter finalist described as, "A devil singing an angels songs ". The four key elements of the band are Lees vicious use of acoustic guitars through valve amps, a voice with power, poise and passion, from tear filled whispers to roaring thunder, Darren s sweeping double bass, and Carls thundering technical drumming. SUNDOGS Wild experimental rock band with influences from the cosmic universe that has no plan.. we just come together and jam! The band started in February 2009 and auto-produced 3 songs in Paris last April. Sundogs is composed of a charismatic singer completed by powerful drums and hypnotic bass which brings to you a catchy and powerful melody. No messing around, just good music!
