We are really chuffed to play host to the relaunch of London band KINGSIZE who have been feverishly writing and re-inventing themselves as a band. They were always good before so expect something remarkable. Bedfordshire band THE OCTOBER GAME have gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years, finding fans in those that know their stuff like Radio 6 s Tom Robinson. They launch their 2nd album Wildblood the week of this gig. JUMPING SHIPS are a Brighton band who in their year and a half of playing together have toured the UK 3 times, been part of shows for The Great Escape, BBC Introducing, Club NME, Leftfield Glastonbury and Rock Against Racism supporting bands such as Biffy Clyro, Bombay Bicycle Club, Flood of Red, General Fiasco and The Most Serene Republic. "Ted Leo meets Karate melodic punk-rock ... Jumping Ships? Time to get on board people! " (NME) Jumping Ships are a local band set to play alongside more established acts such as Doves, The Lemonheads and Biffy Clyro (The Guardian) Another great Brighton band (clearly there s something in the water there), ICE BLACK BIRDS were Radio 1 s Huw Stephen s tip of the week at the start of January this year. They have already been hand picked by the likes of Golden Silvers, Joe Gideon and The Shark, Wave Machines, Goldhawks and We Have Band to support them on tour and played various venues across the country such as Concorde 2, Club NME and Proud Galleries amongst others. Ice Black Birds quality lies in being able to create a song with catchy riffs that sound great on first hearing them and yet somehow mange to improve on subsequent listens. (Brighton Calling) LISA MADISSON is a withtheband favourite and played at our launch back in June. She ll be doing a short acoustic set to start the evening off and i guarantee her haunting voice and beautiful lyrics will be worth getting down early for. She s also our only lass of the night successfully making the night a non sausage fest. CURATED BY WITH THE BAND
