This film, through kaleidoscopic cinematography, charts the process by which a boy, who witnessed the Nazi murder of his parents eventually frees himself and learns that memories are to be treasured. A touching cinematic masterpiece. A young Jewish boy’;;s immediate family is murdered before his eyes by Nazis, but, through fate, his life is spared.
Despite later success in life as a writer in Toronto, he remains a hostage of this profound grief, unable to truly love or be loved.
