November 14th 2008 continues the monthly succession of Dark Fridays organized by the Singapore Dark Alternative Movement. Like the previous two installments, this night of mayhem and misadventure will include the riveting DJing talents of internationally renowned personalities in the industrial/EBM/future pop/electro/gothic music scene.
Headlining is DJ Stefan P, who has been active in the scene since 1988. He spins as resident DJ at the Factory / Dominion Club in Magdeburg and popular German clubs of the genre. This promoter and organizer of concerts has a stellar 18-year track record, and will surely extend the local scene frontiers with his decadent tunes.
November 14th also marks the local Record Release party of Autodafeh's “Hunt for Glory”. With their wide experience in the EBM and music industry, Autodafeh will definitely deliver hard pumping EBM /Electronic Music with an attitude and glorious sing-along lyrics with their debut CD.
The uninitiated will find the musical sensibilities colloquially referred to as ‘gothic trance’ or ‘hard floor’. Yet familiar alternative anthems are likely to be played amidst new, groundbreaking releases with local deck surgeons DJ Saito Nagasaki (Aesgrade), DJ Mentor (X’ho in a guise) and DJ Murderfreak in tow.
As the event is a social imperative to promote the culture, only a S$10 cover will be in place for all patrons.
With the success of the inaugural ‘Dark Friday’ installment at Legends @ orchard on 5th September, and its sequel on 3rd October, SDAM (Singapore Dark Alternative Movement) have consolidated the only bonafide Gothic/Alternative clubbing experience at a new haven within the walls of Legends @ orchard. This has drawn considerable attention as the new mecca for Dark Alternative Music in Southeast Asia, ever since hosting on separate occasions, DJ Panic of the notorious Slimelight goth club (London) and DJ Eskil Simonsson of Sweden's darkwave kings Covenant.
Dark Friday has also attained international sponsorship from international publishing and promotion company NetManagement (NMMV) who have remained staunch in their support since the Machines Against Hunger launch for Singapore and SE Asia by SDAM on Friday, 13th June 2008.
Being a friendly enough establishment to relinquish one Friday a month to the alternative social collective, Legends @ orchard has adapted quickly to the grateful denizens, serving up S$15 absinthe shots and providing a cosmopolitan outlook on the sheer aesthetics presented by them.
