The Santana Show was formed by session/concert solo guitarist Heath Markwell.
It has been a long desire of Heath’s to form a tribute band to one of the finest musicians in contemporary music history, Carlos Santana.
The Santana Show members comprises of a 6 pieces band including percussionists and two amazing vocalists.
Stacey Lee session vocalist worked in Hollywood California. Stacey studied with the famous Gloria Bennett- Alex Roses vocal teacher and worked in USA. Stacey is currently recording a solo album named The Crossroads. Percussionists
Mark Beltran is the director of Terrigal Music Studios, currently teaching music and is a seasoned performer for over 15 years. Percussionists
Simone Williams has played keyboards in numerous tribute bands and theatre performances to name a few The Cher Show, The Santana Show and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Chris Alison drummer extraordinaire studied at the Australian Institute of Music an amazing musician.
Mikie G one on the finest bass players currently holds a graduate diploma at the Australian Institute of Music.
Heath Markwell developed an interest in guitar at the age of 8 years old. At age 12 Heath began performing professionally and by age 16 he was employed as the principal guitar teacher at the Yamaha School of Music as well as working as a Session Musician. At age 19 Heath was accepted into Adelaide School of Music in order to further his passion for the classical arts a desire that he still strives for today playing the renaissance lute. At aged 24 Heath’s lust for rock n’ roll got the better of him hence pursuing the contemporary solo steel string guitar.
On his first recital the Multicultural Arts Forum praised Heath as “One of the finest guitarists to be heard anywhere, a force to be reckoned with.” It was here that this organisation invited Mr Markwell to represent Australia in Spain.
Heath’s passion for music is still thriving as he continues to teach at The International School of Music and is composing and recording a solo guitar album to be released later this year.
Oh Yes! and of course playing the music of one of the finest contemporary guitarists of all times, Carlos Santana. It has been a passion of Heath’s to produce a Tribute Band to Santana and only now has he been able to finally bring the right musicians together to bring it justice.
