FEATURE GUEST PERFORMERS BIO’S

Baphomet Engine - Live (Illuminati Records / Brazil)

Baphomet Engine is the collaboration of Luis Fernando Secchinatto and Fábio Aurélio Siqueira from Brazil. Coming from different musical backgrounds (Fábio was involved in Trash Metal bands since 1992, and Luis played in punk and ska bands), in 1998
they both moved from traditional bands and instruments, to electronic music. With a true musician background and a real psychedelic state of mind, Baphomet Engine is creating an incredible experience with a powerful energy. Experimenting with a wide range of sounds and frequencies, they are developing their music to reveal to you the insanity and chaos of the "true" world.

Their first break into psy-trance came with the inclusion of their track “Espanta Santo” on
Alkaloid’s compilation True Reality in 2004. Since then have released tracks on compilations by Manic Dragon, Nabi, Kagdila, Yage, Illuminati, Psyber Tribe, Devil’s Mind and Kabrathor, including collaborations with SEQUIPA, Shenz, Dejan, and Electrypnose.

Today, Baphomet Engine is recognized as one of the most innovative and
creative acts from Brazil and with real night music energy. They tell
you stories with amazing feelings and take you on a deep journey to
experience the final judgment day.

So now, with influences from every soundwave he hears, he creates music that is focused on to make the dancefloors go wild & crazy in a psychedelic frenzy with hard, funky, weird & twisted electronic party psy. Debut Album Release 'Sienis - From a Nutter Perspective' (Gi'iwa Productions) Out in February!

Sun Control Species - Live (Iboga / Zenon / Melbourne)

Drooid aka Suncontrolspecies has become a standard amongst the Australian trance scene since the turn of the millennium. A fully accredited musician and engineer, working from 98-2000 as a commercial sound engineer and producer in Sydney, he eventually left to pursue his own music career. After deciding against joining a 'boy band' [for obvious reasons!] the project SCS was born. Now based in Melbourne, his countless performances and tireless travels all across Australians thriving scene, has brought a solid reputation for the unique style and feel SCS brings to the table.

Also extensively traveling the globe, playing alongside almost every other major artist on planets like Denmark, USA, Israel, France, Croatia, and Japan to name a few. With many credits to his name, like live SCS sets recorded and aired for over 1 million people in scandanavia alone, headlining festivals such as Rainbow Serpent three years in a row, and being recognized by peers and punters alike as having a 'node' of originality that is crucial in today’s scene. Released on progressive labels like Zenon, Sub-machine and Zma, Domo, and firmly working with IBOGA, remixing artists such as Freq, Antix and Behind Blue Eyes, SCS is an all-rounder who's deep, emotional and uplifting music has been inspiring people 'on' and 'off' dance floors for years.

Sensient - Live (Zenon / Melbourne)

Sensient is Tim Larner, from Melbourne, Australia. The Sensient sound ranges from dark minimal, to deep tech-trance, to funky minimal, to smooth morning progressive, but always with a psychedelic bend and an increasing emphasis on pure musicality. It steers clear of the generic cheese trance so prevalent in today’s psytrance scene, instead offering deep, intelligent music whilst maintaining the dance floor factor. Sensient absorbs the influence of many other musical styles (breaks, glitch, jazz fusion etc.) and incorporates them into his productions. He has played worldwide at some of the biggest festivals including Boom, Voov, Universo Parallelo, Rainbow Serpent and Fusion. He is also the owner and manager of Zenon Records, one of the most respected minimal/progressive labels around.

Spoonbill - Live (Omelette / Melbourne)

Over the years Jim Moynihan has been busily honing his sonic craft and laying birth to new tracks unannounced to the outside world. In 2005 he decided to let his sonic persona take flight in the form of Spoonbill, with his debut album: Megafauna. Spoony’s iconic mix of improvised electronica, antiquated Australiana and live instrumental recordings was warmly welcomed to the flock, the underground scene taking to this new Aussie direction in electronica like the collective duck to water.
As the demand for spoon tunes grew, Spoonbill minimized his attention on design and decided to focus solidly on his musical expression. After 6 months, he produced his second, lushly aural LP Nestegg (released in early 2007).

Since the Spoon conception, he has played countless live shows across the globe, from California’s Symbiosis Festival (2005, 06, 07) to Nevada’s infamous Burningman Festival (2005 & 07) & the Glade Festival in the UK (2007, 08). In that time he has enjoyed
supporting and playing alongside some of the best: Amon Tobin, Tipper, Kid Koala and OTT.

Spoonbill, through his own label; Omelette Records has recently launched its inaugural VA compilation of down tempo groove electronica from across the globe and now showcases succulent works from further purveyors of fine, innovative sound waves.

Psyboriginal - Live (Sydney)

Psyboriginal is Marc Freund from Sydney, Australia. Since 2004, his live sets have focused on spawning an environment conducive for explosive, energetic, and sometimes unpredictable trancefloor reverberations. The Psybo-sound depicts that indescribable moment between night and day. Ethereal and uplifting to bring in the morning, yet mysterious and menacing enough to wreck nocturnal havoc. Marc's versatility as an artist is further evident in the incorporation of guitar and vocals in some of his tracks. The present end result of the Psybo-sound is a unique style that weaves together all the right elements, fabricating a perfect groove guaranteed to ignite any legion of doofers with positive vibes.
In
the past he has worked alongside fellow Aussie producers Dark Nebula, Fractal Glider, Legohead and Illusion of Self, as well as some recent collaboration with Hydraglyph and Slum, Chromatone and Electrypnose.

Psyboriginal has kicked up dust on dance floors all over Australia as well as in Germany, Austria, Belgium, UK, Spain, Czech Rep., Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary. He has also played all over India (Delhi, Chennai, Pushkar, Bangalore, Bombay, Jaipur) as well as Dubai, Nepal and all over Mexico, Costa Rica and Guatemala. Psyboriginal released his latest album on the 25th of July on Psypneumatix Records.

Workshops & Discussions

Open your mind, body and heart, expand your knowledge and explore the horizons with some informative and inspirational talks and workshops.

The Art of Fire (with Matt & Suz)

There is something primal about fire that calls a certain type of person to dance with it. This workshop caters to those individuals and unifies them as a group
through community experience. By incorporating movement into the techniques of staff twirling and poi spinning, participants gain insight into the wholeness of fire as performance art. Creative warm-up and cool down are part of the program and relevant safety information is discussed and emphasized. Fire itself will be introduced in the later part of the session, and participants are invited to be a part of the fire performance later in the evening. Sorry, no kids due to the attention span required and workshop duration.
All levels of ability welcome and respected.
