We have a night that’s deliciously different in store for you in September. Think Hot Arabian Nights, with both male and female takes on bellydancing in order (we’ll tell y’all about the shows in the next email). The Middle Eastern flavours don’t stop there either, as we have a very special guest DJ appearing from 9:30pm-11:30pm:
DJ Gemma wears many different hats when it comes to djiing, anything from playing at Gurlesque which involves many styles of music not specifically focusing on a dance floor but rather creating moods to feed into the strip shows & the cage dancers. Feeling horny can mean so many different things, it’s being able to feel the vibe of the room, different each time.
Gemma has been running & djing Club Kooky for 13 years. The emphasis is on presenting much live music played at the Club from all over Australia and beyond. Also Performance is very integral to the event. Kooky policy is: “Anything Goes” musically & beyond.
The other Gemma hat is presenting an Arab Queer Event called Club Arak. Gemma plays Arabic music from the breadth of the Middle East & North Africa, incorporating traditional as well as electronic beats; throughout the night will play Arabic Remixes that Gemma has made under the moniker of “Monobrow”.
Gemma says: “I love playing many different styles of music including playing with a live show & my theme is if it feels good play it, if you can dance to it then dance. Of course always considering the event & styles that will suit the evening.
My kink is finding the darkest corner in a room & observing without being seen, I guess you would call me a “Dancer in the Dark”. I love a woman in very high black stilettos but completely veiled from head to toe so all you see is a spirit walking thru & the only thing visible is the occasional appearance of the stilettos as she glides through the space. “ Any one up for making her fantasy come true?

Then Australia’s Queen of Tribal – Mandy Rollins – takes to the turntables from 11:30pm – 1:30am to keep the floor cooking, before another special guest DJ takes over to round out our all-grrl DJ lineup on the night.
Yes, your fave guest DJ Sveta returns to take us from 1:30am to close with her trademark eclectic mix of sounds and styles that always keeps things nice n’sleazy. Stock up on the energy drinks, it’s going to be a loooong night!
