The Bug currently stands in the centre of the UK dubstep scene, but his history as an artist plumbing the depths of sinister, bass heavy music stems back more than two decades. Martin's projects have shaped the sound of the UK underground and in his latest incarnation he has produced one of the quintessential albums of the burgeoning dubstep genre, London Zoo (Ninja Tune, 2008). The sound of The Bug is monstrous. Martin's epic production distils the elements of dancehall, noise, grime and hip-hop and combines them to produce a sonic explosion of devastating proportions. He cuts up pounding bass, driving rhythms and dancehall beats with stunning vocals from the likes of Tippa Irie, Rick Ranking, Flowdan and the irrepressible Warrior Queen, who joins The Bug on stage as the vocalist for this tour. Being especially drawn to the reaction of the crowd with the dj that performed, she knew that there was a calling for something more then just dancing. Melissa started her musical adventure at the age of five when she began learning how to play the piano and the organ, taught by her mother. As she got older, she started with various other instruments such as the harmonica at the age of ten, the guitar at the age of twelve, percussion as the age of 14, and synths at eighteen. By the time she reached sixteen, she invested in turntables, headphones, and a mixer, watched and learned, and began playing various house parties and local teen center shows opening for bands. By 2003, her name spread, and she began playing some of the best events in the Northeast. By 2004, she had her first international gig, and by 2007 she would have played in virtually every major city in the northeast, and midwestern parts of the united states, as well as various cities in canada. Her music has been distributed, and played on radio stations throughout the world, and her personality has been recognised and respected by people across the globe. Her energetic performance, vast music style, turntablism, and track selection has given Melissa a high five in America’s Hard Dance scene. Along with being an exceptional musician and dj, Melissa is also a promoter of a New England based crew called the New England Rave Union (NERU) that reaches out to the local scene, and promotes events of past standing. She accepts the new guys, and gives them a chance to play outside the bedroom, and has been successful with gaining her crew members access to many different events, and having performed internationally as well. hey how is everyone? im guessing youve heard the news by now about the mardigrass doof being cancelled! my friends and i are so devostated! the council decided that there needs to be a permit and all that crap! this would have been my 6th year in a row at the mardigrass and the doof always tops it off perfectley. im just hoping somehow, somewhere, the mardigrass doof will prevail.........

There is like a mega huge thread about it on oztrance.. Basically the council and police don't want it to happen and put a stop to it. They want to create a riot so they can shut down the mardi grass forever.. the doof draws like 2000 people away from the streets at night.. with no doof thats extra people wandering about nimbin..' Sucks cos we were soo keen to go.

Hey people i heard that the mardi grass doof got cancelled because they needed to submit a Development application 2 weeks before and they didn't so the lismore council rejected it. Its the first time they have asked for a DA to be handed in for it and ive heard they didn't tell organisers before the 2 week period. I think this is totally unfair and plain !@#$!@#!@. I hope some other stuff can be organised instead...... any one else heard of this?
