Artist: Larry Greene
Title: Light Of The Way
Genre: Contemporary Christian-Rock-Pop
Label: Harmony Music Maui

Larry Greene makes being Christian a cool thing with his energetic new album titled
Light Of The Way. Greene displays his love for the creator with heart warming and
melodic lead and harmony vocals. For those that normally do not listen to this type of
music, there is an opportunity to explore something different and to expose some unknowing
friends that could use a lift. Because of the type of music that is set to all the lyrics,
everyone ends up walking away with a smile in their hearts.

During the course of the 11 tracks Greene and his supporting cast, manage to keep it fresh
with different styles of music, all the while getting his message across to the ears that
may be open to receiving it. With a combination of religious rock and pop, your troubles
melt away. The blend of Greene's vocals and different configurations of the keyboards make
for the most effective musical during this recording.

Anyone that walks the earth has the opportunity to enjoy this music; the only prerequisite
is that you believe in a power greater than yourself, which most people have some level of
understanding or personal interpretation. In this world of technology and corporate
gluttony, it is refreshing to hear artists that are willing to step forward and put out
some music with hope and a positive message. The world needs it now more than ever.

When the CD stopped spinning I think I walked away more enlightened by the message than
the music itself. From a musical standpoint there are not any risks taken but it's
consistent. I enjoyed the pipe organ especially but felt there could have been more
variety and depth with the music to parallel the sincerity and influence of the message.
This is in direct relation to the overuse of the processed keyboard-drum beats. Perhaps
more focus on acoustic guitar parts and the use of layered keyboards would make a
difference next time Greene steps into the studio. Regardless of my critique, it was nice
experience and something different for a change, and that made it an entirely enjoyable
experience for this listener.
