Jase From Outta Space is without doubt one of the most brilliant live performance artists in Australia today, his 10 year career has spanned a massive variation of different musical styles and sub cultures, the influence of which have imparted an incredible depth of generic variation, and production brilliance.

His live performance career began during the honeymoon period of the early Perth rave scene, when set of mutual friends introduced Jase to one Jamie Side. Together with his long-term music partner in crime, Brendan Slaven the Live performance act "Sensory Overload" was born.

After becoming a regular feature of Perth's seminal EMAS parties as well as a plethora of other underground parties, Sensory Overload went on to gain support for many touring electronic acts including Josh Wink, Itchee and Scratchee (three times), Snog (twice) and Severed Heads.

Jase's debut performance under the moniker of Jase From Outta Space (Delirium's Trancemit 2 party in 1997) was his first opportunity to exercise new live improvisation techniques inspired through jam sessions with CSU and LD120. Four years on, and Jason's spontaneous, jam based live performances have reached a pinnacle of truly `live' performance excellence. Totally unlimited by the concept of pre-programmed loops, tracks or production, Jase is able to intimately identify with the crowds he plays to in a way that is currently unheard of within the realms of live performance electronic music. Of course specific tracks from Jason's large production repertoire can and are often performed live as a part of his sets, but once again they are reproduced from memory in a totally spontaneous and unrestricted process of live performance brilliance. Since his humble days of freebie backyard parties and empty dance floors, Jase has been fortunate enough to gain numerous other supports for luminaries such as Speedy J, Carl Cox, Darren Emmerson, Luke Slater, The Space DJs, Oliver Leib, Will-e-Tell, Cold Cut, and Aphrodite.

Today Jason's stylistic identity moves through strains of heart thumping breaks, dark drum n base, and dark trance edged tribal techno. However his performance style and sound can be uniquely tailored, on the fly, to fit the stylistic identity of almost any club or event. Regardless of what style Jase's performances embody, they are always nothing less than a non-stop rush of metamorphic, spontaneous, performance innovation.

A sample of Jason's work has been included on the CD that accompanies this bio, for further bio information or performance requirement details please contact nine09's events manager Marc Polynick.
